Materials list

It's almost time to get your machine stitches on! As we get closer to camp and time to sew, I'm providing you all with the list of supplies. If you haven't signed up yet and are interested - keep reading to see if this camp would be a good fit for your child.

Our goal for this camp is to provide the girls with the opportunity to learn how to use their sewing machine by making simple but fun sewing projects with supervision.  Each child will be responsible for bringing a sewing machine, basic sewing kit and some project materials.

Here is your materials list. Please make sure to bring your "basic sewing kit" items with you on the first day.  Everything else will be needed for day 2.  If you have any questions about the items or need some guidance, please let me know! I'm here to help and get you started off on the right "seam"! :-)

{Basic Sewing Kit} items:

1 pair sewing/fabric scissors (just a basic pair is fine)
1 sewing gauge (kind of like a ruler, made of aluminum and has a slide on it)
1 - seam ripper
1 - spool all purpose white thread
2 - spools colored all purpose thread (You choose! It is helpful if these match the background of the fabric you pick out)
a couple of bobbins (your sewing machine may have come with some - so check there first before buying more)
hand sewing needle
straight pins

Here is a basic outline of what we will do each day and my recommendations where to purchase fabric, what type and exactly how much.

Day 1 - Learn how to thread machine, wind a bobbin, and sew with different stitches.
